4 tackles won, 2 chances created – Man Utd star must start vs Everton after accepting Ruben Amorim challenge

Manchester United are currently experiencing major difficulties under Ruben Amorim with only a few players standing out in a positive sense.
Ruben Amorim’s side were defeated 1-0 by Tottenham Hotspur on the weekend to leave them 15th in the Premier League table.
Manchester United are paying the ultimate price for countless mistakes made over the last decade, with this season being the worst of them all.
Amorim has come into the club mid-season, tried to change things around and experienced struggles. Many players do not suit his system.
Dorgu received challenge from Amorim after United debut
The only major signing the Portuguese boss was able to make in January was the addition of Patrick Dorgu from Italian club Lecce for a reported £25 million.
It was an important signing considering the lack of quality options at wingback for Amorim’s 3-4-3 system.
Dorgu made his debut against Leicester City in the FA Cup last week and started the game, although he was replaced at half-time.
Speaking afterwards, Amorim explained that the 20-year-old was slightly nervous and challenged him by stating that he will “improve a lot” going forward.
“He was a little bit anxious in the first touch with the ball. It’s a different league for him, different speed of the game, but he did well,” the United boss said. “He has space, he has strength, he’s going to improve a lot.”
Dorgu impressed against Spurs and deserves start vs Everton
Dorgu seemed to answer those questions in his second appearance against Spurs, with the wingback being one of the only positives from the 1-0 loss.
The Dane offered a strong showing on the left side in defence and attack. He won all four of his attempted tackles and nine of his 10 duels in the game.
Across his first 90-minute display, the United star also created two chances in the game and made constant overlapping runs on the attack, which were ignored too often.
He was one of few players who would have impressed Amorim with his performance, and he seemed to accept the head coach’s challenge from the previous week.
With a game against Everton at Goodison Park edging close, Amorim will have several selection headaches – both due to form and injury.
However, there is one obvious decision for the United boss and that is it start Dorgu on that left flank once again and let him build form and connections with his teammates.
With more game-time, players will hopefully make links with the wingback and find him more often than he was found last time out.
