2 goals, 13 passes – Manchester United target sends clear message to Ruben Amorim with incredible display

Manchester United are debating which striker to sign for Ruben Amorim’s squad in the summer transfer window as they look to solve the goalscoring issue at Old Trafford.

It has become so clear that Manchester United need a goalscorer in their squad.

As things stand, the Reds have scored just 37 goals in the Premier League. Only five teams in the division have scored less, including the three in the relegation zone.

Rasmus Højlund and Joshua Zirkzee have scored three each in the league, and Ruben Amorim is struggling to find ways to inspire them into goalscoring form.

Reports have explained that a no.9 is a priority for the club in the summer window and various targets have been identified.

Osimhen sends message to United with Istanbul derby display

Victor Osimhen is one of the names linked with a move to Old Trafford and he is having a stellar season at Galatasaray on loan.

The Nigerian forward moved to the Turkish league on loan from Napoli after being unable to find a permanent move away last summer.

He has 28 goals and five assists in 32 appearances so far this term and two were added to his tally in the Istanbul derby on Wednesday night.

Galatasaray won 2-1 in the all-important clash against Fenerbahçe, with Osimhen grabbing both of the goals to secure victory for his side in the Turkish cup.

His first strike was a fierce effort on the half-volley into the near post, leaving the ‘keeper with no chance, and the second came from the penalty spot.

Osimhen showcased ability to perform in high pressure moments

United fans often claim that the striker role at Old Trafford is a graveyard shift due to the minimal involvement they have in the play.

Against Fenerbahçe, Osimhen had just 36 touches and 13 passes across the 90 minutes. He wasn’t hugely involved in the game but came up with the biggest two moments.

It has been claimed that the Reds are also looking at other options, such as Liam Delap, who are on the younger side.

But the club needs a player able to turn up in difficult and high pressure moments. Osimhen showcased that he can do exactly that with a brace in one of Europe’s most fierce derby games.

While he may be on the more expensive side, those at United must see if a move for the 26-year-old is possible, because he ticks every box they need.
