Hannibal Mejbri is closing in on a loan deal away from Manchester United this month and has to decide between two clubs.

Both Everton and Sevilla are battling for the signature of the talented 21-year-old for the remainder of the season.

Hannibal only started one Premier League game for The Reds this term, but his performance against Burnley away from home would’ve certainly ticked several boxes for Toffees boss Sean Dyche.

Following that game, Sky Sports revealed that the Tunisian midfielder covered 12.9 kilometres during the game. That was more than any Manchester United player since Erik ten Hag took over at the beginning of 2022/23.

At the time, Hannibal also boasted the most pressures per 90 minutes of any Premier League player.

Dyche has often utilised strong ball-winning midfielders in his midfield units, and Hannibal would offer more of the same.

However, the United academy graduate also has a lot of untapped ability in possession of the ball. He offers excellent carrying, a solid enough passing package and usually keeps things quite simple.

Birmingham City fans loved the midfielder when he was on loan there last season, and one Sky Sports commentator even joked that it seemed like there were two of him on the pitch when playing on live TV against Sunderland at the back end of the campaign.

That mixture of pure quality, which he’s yet to be given the opportunity to show at Old Trafford, alongside a relentless workrate, makes the young man a great fit for Dyche and his side. His ability to play in multiple roles and positions adds to the plus side of a loan move there.

Perhaps a cherry on top of the cake is that the midfielder is a magnet for attracting fouls, knowing how to manipulate the ball and position his body to earn free-kicks – this would be great for Dyche and Everton, who have thrived in set-piece situations.
