Manchester United will travel to Amex Stadium on Saturday to face Brighton, in what will be the penultimate game of the Premier League season. Although the chances are slim, Ralf Rangnick‘s men are yet to be mathematically ruled out from finishing in the top four. However, they need to win their remaining two games in order to do so. Meanwhile, Graham Potter‘s Brighton currently sit ninth on the table amid a decent run of form, having won three of their last five matches. Ahead of the clash, both managers spoke to the press and offered some enlighenment about their respective team news.
Ralf Rangnick gave fresh updates regarding his team prior to the game. The biggest news was that captain Harry Maguire and Aaron Wan-Bissaka have returned to training. This will be a boost for United considering the pair have missed the last couple of matches. Unfortunately, United will be without Eric Bailly and Marcus Rashford against the Seagulls.Embed from Getty Images
“We have a question mark behind Eric Bailly, he called the doctor this morning and had some back problems – problems with his back – and he’s being checked right now. We’ll have to see if he will be able to train afterwards.” said the manager regarding Bailly.
And as for Rashford, Rangnick said “Marcus Rashford will be missing, he has caught bronchitis with high temperatures so he won’t be able to be part of the group.”
To conclude, Luke Shaw looks likely to miss the rest of the season while Jadon Sancho and Paul Pogba are still looking to be fit for the final game against Crystal Palace
Brighton’s manager Graham Potter spoke to the press ahead of the game and revealed that they will be without Enock Mwepu who suffered from a groin injury. The Zambian midfielder has enjoyed a stellar debut campaign for the Seagulls this season. Unfortunately, it seems like he will miss the rest of the season. Meanwhile, the next absentees are winger Jeremy Sarmiento and Jakub Moder who is out with a long term injury.Embed from Getty Images
