Confirmed Match Officials: Manchester United vs Brentford

Manchester United will host Brentford for the first time since a League Cup win in September 1975. Manchester United came out victorious in a 3-1 match against the newly promoted side in their first encounter earlier in the season.

Some of the most memorable moments from the previous meeting in January come from the post-match comments of their manager, Thomas Frank. Two of the most notable remarks from the clearly frustrated manger are shown below.

It is safe to assume Brentford will come out with a point to prove, so it could be a busy day for the man in charge of officiating the match, Chris Kavanagh.

Below, we will look into the head official for this fixture, along with his team.

Match Referee

Chris Kavanagh will the man officiating the fixture that holds little impact for either side. This will be his 15th appearance as the match referee in the Premier League this season, but his first game for both Manchester United and Brentford during the campaign. He has shown 55 yellow cards, two straight reds, and awarded five penalty kicks.

Assistant Referees

The linesman for this game are Simon Bennett and Harry Lennard.

Fourth Official

David Coote will serve as the fourth official for the fixture.

Video Assistant Referees (VAR)

Darren England is on video assistant duty for the game at Old Trafford. He is assisted by Sian Massey-Ellis.
