Manchester United travel to North London today for a lunch time kickoff to face Arsenal in the Premier League and here is the predicted line-up for today’s meeting.
After an embarrassing defeat to arch rivals Liverpool, United will look to turn things around against Mikel Arteta’s in-form Arsenal, the Gunners won in a spectacular fashion at Stamford Bridge in their last Premier League outing, after beating the blues 4-2.
After dropping points versus Liverpool, today’s clash will be a must-win for United, if they are to keep their slim hopes of top four alive.
Ralf Rangnick revealed that the team will be boosted by the return of Cristiano Ronaldo. The Portuguese was missing from the United squad when they faced Liverpool on Tuesday after the tragical passing away of his new-born son.
Raphael Varane and Scott McTominay have returned to training as well this week. However, Luke Shaw and Edinson Cavani remain on the side lines.
Fred continues to be unavailable due to a hip problem that saw him come off in the defeat to Everton at Goodison Park. Paul Pogba will also miss the game after scans this week revealed he suffered a calf injury at Anfield and is unlikely to play again this season.
There is a chance Harry Maguire may not feature either with reports suggesting Rangnick will give the Englishman a compassionate leave after he received a bomb threat on Thursday.
The Diogo Dalot and Aaron Wan-Bissaka pairing at fullbacks did not work for Rangnick at Anfield, so I would expect Alex Telles to return at left-back, with the Portuguese on the right.
Manchester United predicted line-up:
David de Gea;
Diogo Dalot, Raphael Varane, Victor Lindelof, Alex Telles;
Scott McTominay, Nemanja Matic;
Anthony Elanga, Bruno Fernandes, Jadon Sancho;
