Ajax captain Dusan Tadic has admited that Erik ten Hag would “fit well” in the Premier League and praises his manager who is well reported to have a verbal agreement to become the next Manchester United manager.
In the pre-match press conference for de Godenzonen’s cup final against PSV, the chatter was all about the managers prospective move to Manchester.
Tadic, who joined the club in 2018, has been a crucial player in Ten Hag’s system. He spoke well of his manager when asked about the situation, but hopes that he is able to stay in the Netherlands.
“I hope he stays. But he is a fantastic manager, one of the best managers in the world. So then you will fit well.” Tadic answered when asked about Ten Hag’s suitability to the Premier League.
The Dutch coach has been praised for his tactical abilities as a manager, and it is one major reason that he excites so many United supporters.
Tadic added: “Tactically, Erik ten Hag is the best. You will know what to do when you are on the pitch.”
When asked himself about the move, Ten Hag was less that abrupt about the situation considering he has a cup final to focus on. It has been well-reported that United want to respect that fact that his side are focused on this upcoming match as well as their league title push.
When asked why he is keeping quiet about his move to Manchester United, Ten Hag said: “Because I serve Ajax. We need to win the 2 remaining trophies.” He was then asked if he was afraid to announce it, to which he said: “I am not afraid. I will repeat myself one more time. Do you have questions about the cup final? About Ajax?”
Ajax face PSV in the KNVB Cup final on Sunday evening. They also currently sit at the summit of the Eredivisie, four points above PSV in second place.
