Manchester United travel to Merseyside to face Everton on Saturday afternoon. We provide the predicted line-up for Ralf Rangnick‘s side in this Premier League encounter.
After a disappointing result last time out against Leicester City, United will look to turn things around against Frank Lampard‘s out of form side.
It is pivotal that The Reds are victorious if they want to remain in contention for the top four race, despite the chances being slim of both Arsenal and Tottenham slipping up.
Rangnick revealed that United will be missing four first-team players this weekend, but Cristiano Ronaldo returns to the side after illness kept him out against The Foxes.
Luke Shaw, Raphael Varane, Scott McTominay and Edinson Cavani will all miss the encounter and that will impact the team that Rangnick decides to start with at Goodison Park.
The English left-back will have a longer layout than the others as he is having two metal bolts removed from his right leg, the one which he broke in 2015.
“Cristiano is back again. Luke is still injured, he’s having problems with his leg where he had an operation in 2015.” Rangnick explained. “He will be out for the next two or three weeks. Cavani is still injured, Varane is still injured and the same is true with McTominay I’m afraid.
“All those four players I would rather have available but they are not and that’s why we have to play with other players instead.” The United boss said.
The two defenders will most likely be replaced by Alex Telles and Victor Lindelöf. Meanwhile, the Scotsman’s position in the middle of midfield will go to either Paul Pogba or Nemanja Matic.
