Geoffrey Kondogbia is a doubt for Atletico Madrid ahead of the second leg of their Champions League tie against Manchester United, according to Marca.
He ended Atletico’s last match against Celta Vigo at the Wanda Metropolitano with ‘discomfort’.
The midfielder has undergone medical tests at the Navarra University Clinic, the result of which, according to Atlético’s medical report, has ruled that he has suffered from a thigh injury.
Kondogbia had a monstrous game against United in the first leg. Although the match ended up finishing 1-1 thanks to goals from Joao Felix and Anthony Elanga, most will say that Atletico dominated the game and Kondogbia was a big reason for that.
He was a one-man engine room for the majority of the game, and should he be out of the running to play at Old Trafford, that is a huge blow for the Spanish side.
The Frenchman’s goal is to be fit for the return leg of the tie agaisnt Manchester United, but Marca say that this goal will be ‘difficult’ to achieve.
The second leg is due to be played on the 15th March, kicking off at 8pm GMT.
