Player Ratings: Manchester United vs Watford

Another matchday, another game with failed chances. A game where three points were vital for Manchester United to keep their top four boat sailing saw them play out a frustrating draw against Watford at Old Trafford.

A series of missed chances from United’s front three saw them fall short of a win against a Watford team that were lucky to even pick up a point considering the way in which the Red Devils created their chances. The quest for top four continues as United face City at the Etihad next sunday.

David de Gea – 6/10

The Spaniard had almost nothing to do this game and had to make just two saves which went directly towards him. However, his poor distribution let down not only himself but the team too.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka – 7.5/10

It was an excellent display from Wan-Bissaka as he not only created chances but also managed to keep the possession fairly well. He also created an excellent chance in the first few minutes of the game which was volleyed against the post by Ronaldo.

Victor Lindelof – 6.5/10

Had pretty much nothing to do all game. Was fairly decent with his passing and also positioned himself quite well to prevent Watford from getting into dangerous areas.

Raphael Varane – 6.5/10

Had a very similar game to Victor Lindelof. Did absolutely nothing wrong during the game but also had little impact.

Alex Telles – 7/10

The Brazilian enjoyed a decent outing tonight. He helped create the most chances and also completed the most crosses on the pitch this game.

Fred – 6/10

The midfielder could only produce an ‘okay’ performance tonight. Did nothing wrong but also did not manage to do nothing too right in order for him to impact the game majorly.

Nemanja Matic – 7/10

The veteran enjoyed a very assured showing tonight. He was excellent in picking out his forward teammates with his beautiful long balls and also helped United maintain a very composed game throughout the 74 minutes he was on the pitch.

Bruno Fernandes – 5.5/10

Bruno Fernandes’ performance tonight pretty much summed up the whole match. He created plenty of chances and did absolutely nothing wrong in that part of the game. But, he did manage to fluff two huge chances in the first half which negated the good part of his performance.

Paul Pogba – 6.5/10

The Frenchman had a quiet game tonight compared to a few of his previous performances. He failed to create a major effect on the game.

Anthony Elanga – 6.5/10

The young Swede enjoyed a promising display tonight. His first half performance was absolutely spotless and he was arguably the best player on the pitch for the first 45. He did manage to miss a decent scoring opportunity and will be hoping to improve that side of the game for the upcoming fixtures.

Cristiano Ronaldo – 5.5/10

The veteran striker played out a pretty dull game in terms of his clinicality. He managed to miss a decent few chances but there was a silver lining in this performance as he was more than decent enough when it came to playmaking.

Marcus Rashford – 6/10

The forward failed to create a huge effect on the game’s result in the final minutes of the game and hence gets a base rating of 6/10.

Jadon Sancho – 6/10

Sancho would have made a major impact had he started the game tonight. Nonetheless, he gets a base rating of 6 for his quiet 28 minutes of game time tonight.

Luke Shaw – 6/10

Luke Shaw did nothing major and hence gets a base rating of 6/10.
