Facundo Pellistri receives high praise from Manchester United teammate following solid performance for Uruguay

Facundo Pellistri has been praised by Manchester United teammate Amad Diallo on Instagram following his performance for Uruguay against Venezuela last night.

Both players are currently out on loan at the moment, with Amad recently joining Rangers in the Scottish Premiership while Pellistri is struggling for regular game-time at Deportivo Alavés in La Liga.

However, in only his second senior appearance for his international side, the 20-year-old winger demonstrated his talents in the 67 minutes that he was on the pitch in Uruguay’s 4-1 victory.

After providing a top quality assist for Giorgian De Arrascaeta mid-way through the first half, Pellistri won the penalty in the opening exchanges of the second period for Luis Suarez to dispatch. He completed all of his four attempted take-ons and had a 97% pass accuracy throughout the game. The winger also had four key passes.

Amad complimented his fellow winger on Instagram with a comment below Pellistri’s post. The Ivorian’s comment translated to “What a player”.

Both wide men will be looking to impress on loan for the second half of the season so that they can prepare to challenge for places in United’s first-team next season.

Pellistri’s Alavés face Elche on Saturday afternoon next, while Amad will be in contention to start against Celtic in the Old Firm tonight.
