Player Ratings: Leeds 0-0 Manchester United

Manchester United, for the first time since 2003, faced Leeds United in the Roses Rivalry at Elland Road today, and although many fans expected fireworks, however that did not come to fruition in the first half. Despite some good chances at either end for Marcus Rashford and Stuart Dallas, no breakthrough came. There was more action in the second half, with Bruno Fernandes going close in the 70th minute, however the match ended in a stalemate.

Dean Henderson – 7/10

Henderson had another commanding display this afternoon, keeping yet another clean sheet and being reliable when called upon.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka – 7.5/10

Wan-Bissaka had a game which showed much attacking and ball usage improvement, completing 5 out of his 6 attempted dribbles and completing 33 of his passes, he did well.

Victor Lindelof – 6/10

Winning 4 of his 5 attempted duels, Lindelof had a decent game at the back. He also played a few nice long balls to try and start attacks, completing 3 long balls.

Harry Maguire – 6/10

Maguire won 5 of his 6 attempted duels, and also completed 3 of his 4 attempted long balls. He did well to keep Bamford quiet throughout the game.

Luke Shaw – 7.5/10

Shaw was great yet again, driving forwards and creating many diverting runs to try and help create. He created 5 key passes, and attempted 12 crosses.

Fred – 6/10

Fred has actually had a pretty decent defensive display today, making 3 tackles and 3 clearances, however this has been hampered by his lack of attacking ability. He did well to keep the ball while being the trigger for Leeds’ press, but it was far from his best game.

Scott McTominay – 5.5/10

McTominay was alright today, however his performance left a lot to be desired. With Pogba on the bench, it was up to him to help connect defence and attack, and alongside Fred, that didn’t really happen.

Bruno Fernandes – 5/10

A game to forget for Fernandes, who did not show the same quality we usually see from him. He had a great chance to put United ahead in the 2nd half, and he really should have done more.

Daniel James – 5/10

Not the best game from James today, who couldn’t seem to quite pull off his final ball or guide his shots on target.

Mason Greenwood – 5.5/10

Considering his form in the last 4 league games, Greenwood did not have the best of performances as United’s striker. With Cavani benched (presumably for United’s game against Roma on Thursday), it was his chance to show the manager that he deserves his chance up front, however that chance wasn’t taken as well as it could have been.

Marcus Rashford – 7/10

Thought Rashford was a big threat in behind today, however he was let down with his finishing touch. He was our biggest attacking threat, and he probably deserved a goal, going closest with a freekick that was saved by Meslier.

Paul Pogba – 6/10

Pogba did well when he came on, but ultimately his impact was limited. He did create 1 key pass and drew a foul, however much like the rest of the attacking players, he didn’t have the impact that would be hoped.

Edinson Cavani – N/A

Cavani came on and played 9 minutes, however he only had 10 touches and didn’t do enough to warrent a rating.

Donny van de Beek – N/A

As has been his story this season, van de Beek came on in the 89th minute, and was not given anywhere near enough time to make an impact on the game.
